So you finally decided to level up and get yourself a set of super-strong teak wooden utensils, that’s great!

Now that you’ve got yourself high-quality utensils, the best thing you can do is take care of them to make sure they will last a lifetime! How can you do that? We’ve narrowed it down to a few simple tips:

How to Wash Your Spoons

We recommend hand washing your wooden utensils using soap and warm water. Rinse thoroughly and then allow them to air dry in an upright position, possibly on a dish rack or in a container.

There is a possibility that your wooden utensils will retain food smells. How do you deal with that? Simply rub your utensils with salt and lemon. After that, lightly sand your wooden utensils with fine-grade sandpaper when needed.

We recommend that you occasionally treat them with any kind of food-safe oil that’s not prone to rancidity. It will prevent them from drying out.

Are The Spoons Dishwasher Safe?

The utensils are not dishwasher safe. Do not wash wooden utensils in the dishwasher or leave them soaking in water. Wood reacts negatively when it’s put in water for long periods of time.

How to Recondition Your Utensils For Maintenance.

You can easily recondition your utensils, following our simple 4 steps process:

  1. Lightly scrub away the dirty layer of wood, using sandpaper.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350° F.
  3. Wipe your spoon with a neutral oil (Like grapeseed or mineral oil. Don’t use olive or vegetable oil).
  4. Place your spoon in the oven for two to three minutes.

That’s all you need to know about caring for your utensil set. Follow this guide and you can rest assure, your utensils will last forever!
